I just saw a BMW commercial and it said some one got a 80 minute standing ovation, that’s extemely long…but do u think its true?
Placido Domingo in Otello
Placido Domingo holds the world record for the longest ovation ever on the operatic stage: 101 curtain calls and 80 minutes of applause, in Vienna, after singing Otello on June 30, 1991.

Okay, I got that the longest SO was over 80 minutes for Placido Domingo in Otello; the info., also says he had 101 curtain calls; was that just to bow, or did he have to sing some of the times? Also, who or who long, or both, were involved in the 2nd longest SO?
